We are incredibly proud to celebrate an extraordinary achievement by our own Jevahn Sathasivam, who at 16 years, has just made history as one of the youngest golfers to win the prestigious Sri Lanka Amateur Open — the second-oldest golf tournament outside the UK, with an incredible legacy spanning 133 years.
In a nail-biting final, Jevahn claimed victory in his first attempt, winning the intense 36-hole match against Indian Shamit Dhakane.
His journey to the top over 6 days of golf was nothing short of inspiring, having started from 31st on Day 1 and 19th on Day 2 of the qualifiers. Jevahn then powered through match play, defeating top players from Sri Lanka and India in the quarter final and semi-final before a thrilling finish against the Indian finalist.
With over 100 competitors from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, and Dubai, Jevahn’s exceptional skill, from his powerful drives to his precise short game, truly set him apart. His victory earns him valuable WAGR points, improving his world ranking and marking him as one of the finest rising stars in golf.
Congratulations 🎊🥳🎉Jevahn, on this remarkable achievement and for inspiring us all!
