AIS women swimmers claim third overall at Nationals, proving quality trumps quantity

Highlighting that quality often surpasses quantity, the four-member senior women's swimming team from Asian International School (AIS) earned a notable success at the concluded Long Course National Swimming Championship, held recently at the Sugathadasa Stadium Swimming Pool. Their impressive haul of seven medals secured them third place in the Senior Women's category and the position of second-best school overall.Despite competing against numerous top schools and clubs, including international teams from Dubai and the Maldives, AIS's senior women's squad outperformed expectations. They amassed 275 points, finishing behind only the Senior Women's Champion Killer Whale Aquatics and Runners-up Ladies'College.The standout performers from AIS included Christina Perumal, Sithuki Yonara, Keshika Vishalini, and Cassandra Karunakalage. graduation of the Class of 2024 of Asian International School was held at the Cinnamon Lakeside Hotel on 7th July 2024.Asian International School takes credit as the first school in Sri Lanka to host a high school graduation in the lines of graduation ceremonies in the United States.The ceremony this year witnessed the graduation of a class of 80 students in the presence of teaching faculty, parents and a host of well-wishers. The stage backdrop creatively displayed pictures of the entire graduating class in their younger days.The Chief Guest at the event this year was Mr. Maitrey Kulkarni, Counsellor at the High Commission of India in Sri Lanka.
